Lagos - Police have arrested and arraigned three men before a Lagos Magistrate Court for allegedly harassing the ruler of Itowolo community, Oba Nurudeen Adekobi.
The suspects were named as Amidu Olayemi, Adeshina Adegboyega and Abiodun Oleyele.
Prosecutors alleged in suit No. A/28/2014, that the accused persons committed the offence in November 2013 at Itowolo community along Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
It is alleged the accused persons and others now at large invaded the Itowolo community with thugs to harass and chase away Adekobi and his subjects from their land without lawful authority.
It is said the offences the accused committed are punishable under sections 409 and 52(b) of the criminal laws of Lagos state, 2011.
The trio however pleaded not guilty to the crime and urged the court to admit them to bail in the most liberal terms assuring that they will not skip.
They were accorded bail to the sum of N200 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The matter has been adjourned to May 21 for mention.
