Lagos - A man has been arraigned at the Federal High Court in Calabar, Cross River State for his alleged involvement in swindling a Swedish national of more than N4,5 million through a romance scam.
Amadi Jude has appeared before Justice Emmanuel Obile on a 12-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence.

Amadi who goes by different pseudo names, Richard Smith, Mike Anderson, Richard Darwin, Jackson Miller, and Morgan Abela-is alleged to have collected N4,544 million from a Swedish national, and promised to marry her.
The court alleges the suspect, together with John Ikechukwu Efughi and one Farouk, both at large, between May 2014 and January 2015 in Calabar, committed felony with it obtaining money by false pretence and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 8 (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under section 1
(3) of the same act.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Justice Obile has adjourned the matter to October 12.
The accused person has been remanded in prison custody.
