Onitsha – A heavy traffic jam on the top of the Niger Bridge in Onitsha in Anambra resulted in the death of two people, one being a child, AllAfrica reports.
The cause of death of the two was exhaustion due to the extended period they were in their respective vehicles while attempting to cross the Niger Bridge.
The child was travelling with his mother on a commercial bus and it was reported that he was crying for a while due to the heat before he died. The other victim was a trader who was travelling to Onitsha to sell goods.
It has been reported that the Federal Government has been promising to build another bridge to relieve the traffic congestion for the past ten years.
