Two police officers killed in fresh Benue attacks

Benue - Suspected Fulani herdsmen, on Wednesday, shot to death two policemen attached to the Vandeikya Divisional Police Station in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State, Leadership reports.

Also, in what was like a politically motivated killing, two men were waylaid and killed by some armed men near Ushongo, Ushongo Council Area of the state. The state command of the Nigeria Police has confirmed both incidents.

The policemen were shot on duty while on stop-and-search operations just by the gate leading into Federal Government College, Vandeikya.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident, gave the name of one of the policemen as Corporal Simon Tyokosu but said he is yet to get the name of the second victim.
