Enugu - The Enugu State Police Command on Thursday said it had nabbed two armed robbery suspects following a distress call from members of the public.
A statement from Public Relations Officer of the command, Ebere Amaraizu, in Enugu on Thursday said the suspects were arrested in Enugu after exchange of fire with the police.
The identified one of the the suspects as an indigene of Ebonyi while the other one claimed to be a civil engineering student of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu.
The police said some of the items recovered from the suspects were a locally made double barrel pistol, two locally made single barrel pistol and live ammunition.
It also said the operatives of the anti-kidnap unit of the command had arrested six suspected armed robbers.
The statement said they were arrested in connection with a robbery that took place on Enugu-Oturkpo road.
