Lagos - United States of Secretary, John Kerry, will travel to Abuja on Friday for the inauguration of President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.
The inauguration will be held on the same day.
“Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Abuja, Nigeria, on May 29 to lead the official U.S. delegation on behalf of President Obama for the inauguration of Nigerian President-elect Muhammadu Buhari,” read a White House statement.

Following the election of Buhari at the end of March, the United States welcomed the conduct of the polls.
The country also hailed outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat.
Meanwhile, Kerry will travel to Switzerland, Spain and France following his Nigeria assignment.
