Abuja – The United States government have made a statement saying that they would not stop opposing the same sex prohibition law that was passed in Nigeria recently, Vanguard reported.
Linda Thomas Greenfield, US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, said on a live web chat programme that they would continue to oppose the law until all people have the freedom to exercise their rights.
Greenfield claimed that the arrest of people based on their sexual orientation was wrong and the US government would press the Nigerian government in order to get them to change the law.
