Owerri - Non-academic staff of Nigerian universities are prepared to go on strike over the federal government’s failure to implement an agreement signed in 2009, Nation reports.
The Non Academic Satff Union (NASU) took the decision at the end of a conference in Owerri.
The communique stating this fact was signed by Deputy President/Chairman of the Universities Trade Group, Comrade Sunday Adeyemi and the Deputy General Secretary, Comrade F.J Ajayi.
The Union asked President Goodluck Jonathan to review of the agreement within the next three months.
They also advised the Federal Government not to add to the negative impact that the Academic Staff Universities Union (ASUU) strike already had in the country.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian government has given a December 4 ultimatum to all university lecturers to resume.
