Vehicle of kidnapped Sokoto businessman recovered

08 November 2013, 16:56

Sokoto - The police in Sokoto have recovered the vehicle of a businessman, Abu Dankure, who was kidnapped in the state on Wednesday.

The Spokesman of the police command in the state, DSP Al-Mustapha Sani, told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) on Thursday in Sokoto that Dankure was kidnapped on Wednesday in Sokoto at the Kupper area of the city.

He said the gun-wielding hoodlums were said to have taken him away and his Toyota Camry car.

However, the car was found at a farmland near Durbawa Village in Kware Local Government Area of the state.

"The car has Sarkin Fadan Sarkin Musulmi - Abu Kure as its registration number.''

Sani said that the vehicle was recovered by a combined patrol team of policemen from the Unguwar Rogo Police Division in Sokoto, as well as those from the Kware Division.

"The vehicle was intact when it was found as the hoodlums had not tampered with it.

"The car is now in the custody of the state police command, while efforts are on to trail the kidnappers and the business tycoon.''
