Ibadan – A newspaper vendor was chased and then beaten by several prison wardens in Ibadan allegedly because he refused to give them free newspapers, Vanguard reports.
The vendors were selling the newspapers close to the entrance of the house of the controller of prisons where the wardens stood guard. According to the vendors, when they refused to give the wardens free newspapers they ordered them to leave their post which they refused this caused the wardens to beat one, Adewale Moronkeji.
The wardens took Moronkeji to the police headquarters in Elevele after they had beaten him saying that the vendor wanted to attack the controller of prisons. Moronkeji is currently still being held by the police.
