Lagos - Alade Odunewu, one of Nigeria’s most respected journalists and best-read columnists has passed away at 85, Vanguard reports.
The veteran journalist was a fixture of the Daily Times Group for many years, and he authored some of the industry’s most pungent opinion columns under his pen name, “Allah-Dey.”
He served as a commissioner for tourism in Lagos State in 1973 and was later a member of the Federal Electoral Commission, FEDECO.
Reports said he died on Thursday at the private St Nicholas Hospital.
