Wine expo in Lagos coincides with Mandela Day

15 July 2013, 13:01

Lagos -  More than 30 South African wines will be on show at the Wines of South Africa (WOSA) exhibition to coincide with global commemorations to mark Nelson Mandela Day on Friday in Lagos.

WOSA, an organization which promotes the export of South African wines, is holding the exhibition in conjunction with the South African High Commission in Nigeria.

Some prominent names expected at the annual wine taste exhibition in Lagos include Remhoogte Wine Estate, Tokara, KWV and Raka Wines.

The grand tasting is said to be the biggest tasting and largest gathering of South African wines in Nigeria.

The South Africa wine industry has shown tremendous interest in promoting trade in Nigeria, which makes the region the best option for wine importers and distributors.

The expo will correspond with the 95th birthday of the ailing former South African President.

He celebrates the birthday on Wednesday.

The world-famous Mandela is suffering from a recurrent lung infection.
