Lagos - A 30-year-old woman, who
allegedly `tore the face’ of her co-tenant with a broken mirror, was on
Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, Blessing Samson, mother of two, who resides at No. 34 Onufuma St.,
Agege, a Lagos suburb, is facing a charge of assault.
She, however, denied committing the offence.
The prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Imhonwa, told the court that the offence was
committed on July 4 at 5p.m, at the accused person’s residence.

He said the accused attacked her co-tenant with a piece of
broken mirror and "tore open the flesh on her face.’’
According to the prosecutor, "Samson used the sharp edge of
a broken mirror to tear open the face of one Miss Onyinye Anachobi, in three
Imhonwa alleged that a scuffle ensued following a heated
argument over an undisclosed matter.
He added that the accused acted on the premise of a "lingering disagreement" between them.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 171 of
the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
The Magistrate, Bola Osunsanmi, in her ruling, granted the
accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned
the case till Aug. 28, for trial.
