Ikeja - A 24-year-old woman, Mary Eruogwu,
appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates' Court on Tuesday over alleged
theft of 1 820 litres of kerosene.
Eruogwu is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, theft and breach of the peace.
The Police Prosecutor, Cpl. Seun Adeleke, said that the
accused allegedly committed the offences on June 11 at Awoyaya Area, on
Ajah/Epe Expressway, Lagos.
Adeleke told the court that the accused and others at large allegedly
stole 1 820 litres of Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) property of Samuel
He said that the accused and other accomplices conducted themselves
in a manner to cause breach of the peace by unlawfully forcing
themselves into the premises of Paragosimo Nigeria Ltd.
He said the offences contravened sections 166 (1) (d), 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Hamzat, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case to Oct. 23 for mention.
