Onitsha – A woman was rescued from almost drowning in the Ezu River after swimming after N500 that got lost in the river, AllAfrica reports.
Peace Nnabuife had gone into the river on a ‘spiritual journey’ when she slipped and started drowning. Some men who were passing in a canoe, saw the drowning woman and saved her.
On their way back to the shore N500 fell into the river, the woman went after the money and got swept off by the river but she caught onto roots of a tree and it prevented her from drowning.
Nnabuife revealed that she travels by rivers to her religious places and hoped the river would carry her to Nibo.
