Lagos - A man has been arraigned before the Akwa Ibom State High Court in Uyo for allegedly depriving his employer of N4,6 million.

Oladepo Bamidele Osibeluwo, who was employed by a pharmaceutical company, appeared before Justice Augustine Odukwo one a count charge of theft.

It is alleged the accused, who was employed as Regional Sales Manager by Topcare Nigeria Limited, sometime in 2011, allegedly sold some pharmaceutical products worth N4,6 million but could not give proper account of the sales recorded.

The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.

Justice Augustine has proposed that the case be transferred to an administrative judge for re-assignment on the grounds that some courts in the State High Court, Uyo Judicial Division handled criminal cases.

He refused the accused bail and ordered that he should be remanded in prison custody.
