Youths want Ondo deputy governor impeached

15 April 2015, 19:27

Akure - Barely two days after the National Association of Ondo State Students demanded the impeachment of the State Deputy Governor, Alli Olanusi within seven days, another youth group, the Concerned Ondo State Youth has also called on the deputy governor to resign honourably from office.

The youth staged a peaceful protest to the governor office to also demand the exit of Olanusi as deputy governor of the state.

According to the spokesperson for the group, Comrade Akintunde Lawal, the defection of Olanusi to the All Progressives Congress would definitely hinder the existing peace and development being recorded by the Olusegun Mimiko administration.

Akintunde Lawal stressed further that the selfish ambition of the deputy governor to become the governor of the state, hoping that the APC would win the majority seats in the last Saturday's assembly election was proved wrong by the good people of the state, who voted en-masse for the PDP candidates leading to PDP winning 21 out of 26 seats.

He therefore said that such a person is not fit to continue in the government of Ondo State and he should be impeached.

Receiving the youth on behalf of Governor Olusegun Mimiko, his Chief of Staff, Kola Ademujimi thanked the youth for their support and for voting en-masse for the PDP candidates in the assembly election, saying that the support would spur government to perform better.
