Umuahia - Gov Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia has filed a notice of appeal and application for stay of execution at the Court of Appeal in Abuja against the ruling of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court.
Justice Abang had on Monday ordered Ikpeazu to vacate his seat immediately for Samson Ogah against whom he stood for the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in December 2014.

Ogah had dragged the governor to court for lying about some of the information he submitted to his party during the governorship primary.
Justice Abang ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately issue a certificate of return to Ogah, who polled the second highest number of votes in the primary.
But the governor in his notice of appeal urged the Court of Appeal to stay execution of the judgement of the lower court.
