Abuja - A motorist and his female companion met their demise on Tuesday when the vehicle they were driving in veered off the road and burst into flames.
The accident was said to have happened in the Central Business District of Abuja in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Punch reports.
According to Bisi Kazeem, Head of Media Relations and Strategy at the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the car was traveling at a high speed when control was lost and the vehicle struck a tree, causing a fiery blaze.

Both the driver and his companion were trapped in the wreckage and burnt to death as a result.
The vehicle was later identified by a relative of the motorist, who noticed the car's registration number while traveling in the vicinity.
It was learnt that only the legs of the victims and remnants of bone could be extracted from the scene.
