Alleged 800m transaction: Obanikoro comes to daughter's defence

Lagos - The former Minister for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro has reacted to the recent move by anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on his family.

Recall that the EFCC on Friday grilled Shalewa, Obanikoro’s daughter over a transaction of N800m she allegedly made.

In reaction to the move by EFCC, the former minister took to his social media account on twitter to write:

– @the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Criminalizing an innocent girl to hang her father is a sin before God#mo

 @the truth is that my daughter never had access to that kind of money#mo

– @decent accountant with strong background in international best practices and above all fear of God#mo

– @no matter the speed of lies the truth shall prevail#mo

News24 reported that the anti-graft agency on Friday quizzed Shalewa Obanikoro.

She was quizzed over a transaction of N800m she allegedly made.

Shalewa was grilled at the Lagos office of the EFCC for several hours alongside her mother, Moroophat.

Moroophat according to was arrested and released on Thursday.
