Lagos - Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode came to the rescue of a man locked in the boot of a car by two Nigerian Air Force cadets in the Mile 12 area of the state, Punch reports.
The cadets – Peters Solomon and Abdullahi Fahad -who claimed to be attached to the Air Force base in Ikeja, had forced the artisan, Dahiru Lawal into the boot of their vehicle for allegedly breaking the windscreen of a Chrysler Stratus car.
The governor, who was returning in a convoy from an inspection visit to Agbowa in Ikorodu, ordered the release of the victim and arrested the cadets.
The cadets, however, defended their action, adding that Lawal tried to escape after breaking the windscreen.
They explained that he ran into a nearby market where they eventually apprehended him.
