Abuja - One of the non-career ambassadorial nominees President Muhamamdu Buhari sent to the Senate for confirmation on Thursday, Usman Bugaje from Kastina state, has rejected the offer.
Bugaje is the second nominee to reject the offer, after another nominee, Pauline Tallen, a former deputy governor of Plateau state, rejected her nomination.
Tallen had rejected her nomination on the grounds that there was no proper consultation. She had also explained that her decision was done in fairness to other parts of the state.

She also stated that she will not be able to pick up the appointment as she needed time to attend to her ailing husband.
Unlike Tallen, The Cable reports that Bugaje was prevailed upon by top government officials not to announce his rejection of the offer in the media.
Bugaje, a member of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), was a former National Secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)
