Abuja - Despite a ceasefire agreement between the Federal Government and Niger Delta Avengers to bring an end to attacks on oil installations, a new military group has now formed and is threatening further attacks, Punch reports.

The group stated its support for the Niger Delta Avengers.
Their motive is believed to be establishing an economic balance in the region saying that it had a common enemy with the Avengers, namely the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC.
News24 Nigeria previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari has come under criticism for what is thought to be a sign of weakness by initiating a dialogue with the militants.
