APC advise muslims to pray for Nigerian economy

Lagos - The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar yesterday called on the Muslim community to pray against all forces against the economic well-being of Nigerians, Punch reports.

Abubakar, while sharing a goodwill message to mark the Ramadan fast insisted that Muslims would be accounted for their actions and inaction after the Ramadan.

"Nigerian Muslims are called upon to cast back their minds to the good virtues of the month of Ramadan and keep to its teachings all through," he said.

The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, has also called on Muslims to pray for peace and a healthy economy in Nigeria. The party also urged workers in the state to enter into fresh dialogues with the government.

News24 Nigeria reported that President Muhammadu Buhari cancelled the breaking the Ramadan fast with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and other members of the National Assembly.

Since his return from his leave on June 19, Buhari had hosted different groups to Iftar, during which they broke their fast with him.
