APC caucus endorses Buhari for second term

24 March 2016, 12:17

Abuja - National caucus members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have revealed their motive for the 2019 presidential elections.

According to a Naij report, the caucus convened a meeting on Tuesday night to entice Muhammadu Buhari into running for a second term.

The APC members have stated that a second term for Buhari would help stabilise the polity considering the state of affairs inherited from the People's Democratic Party's (PDP's) 16 year reign.

During the gathering of the caucus, which constituted a committee to resolve all pending issues in the party, agreed that although Buhari should be allowed to seek a second term, it is too early to kick start a second term campaign for the president.

In addition, it was learnt that the matter was brought to the fore in a bid to curb restiveness among party leaders who have been split over their future ambitions.

Meanwhile, senators at the meeting resolved to unify in order not to misplace their influence to the more united PDP caucus within the house.
