APC Delta hails ascension of teen monarch

24 February 2016, 18:14

Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has congratulated Obi Chukwuka Akaeze I following his crowning as the royal father of the Ubulu Uku Kingdom.

State party leader and Urukpe of Evwreni Kingdom, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, said the crowning of the 15-year-old monarch was a typical reflection on the rich culture and tradition of the Ubulu Uku nation.

Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, the APC Delta spokesperson, said the party received the news with joy especially at a time when Ubuku Uku people desired a vibrant Obi to pilot the affairs of the kingdom.

“Obi Akaezi I’s ascension to the throne will further enhance peace, progress and unity in the various communities and subjects of the king,” said the spokesperson.

Oghenesivbe said his principal, Emerhor, appealed to the new monarch to rule his people as guided by The Almighty.

He said APC Delta would offer its support.

The new monarch succeeded his father, Edward Ofulue III, who was murdered suspected Fulani herdsmen earlier this year.
