Makurdi - The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has shut Haf Haven Hotel, reports Sahara Reporters.
The hotel is owned by Senator George Akume of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his wife, Regina.

The hotel, which is located at 24 Atiku Abubakar Way in Makurdi, Benue State, is owing the government N13.5 million in taxes.
The debt according to The Nation is made up of Company Income Tax, Education Tax, Withholding Tax and Value Added Tax
Regina Chinazor Edeh, the leader of the FIRS enforcement team, insisted that unless full payment of the tax liabilities was made the hotel would remain shut.
The team ordered the hotel to discharge its guests while staff were sent packing.
