Appeal Court freezes all accounts belonging to Imo State

Abuja - The Imo State Government is set to have all of its accounts frozen, according to an Appeal Court sitting in Owerri, Naij reports.

The funds domiciled in the mentioned accounts are reported to be used towards debts owed to E.F Network Nigeria Limited, as well as Gideon Egbuchulam in lawsuits that had previously been awarded in their favour.

While delivering his judgement in an appeal filed by the Imo State Governor and the State Attorney General, Justice G. Mbaba ordered that the sum of N1 billion be paid to those to whom it was owed.

Government officials within the State have yet to provide commentary on the matter, Vanguard reports.
