Abuja - Armed gunmen, suspected to be Fulani herdsmen invaded a village then launched a merciless attack, leaving three people dead as they sprayed bullets on the Girei Local Government Area, Naij reports.
The attack which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning left three people dead with three more people injured. The attackers then carted away livestock and other domestic animals belonging to the community.

Community leaders who delivered the bodies of the deceased to the state police condemned the lack of a police presence in the area despite continued security threats.
The Adamawa state police however stated that assured locals of their awareness of the attacks while promising to detain those responsible for the attacks.
News24 Nigeria reported that suspected Fulani herdsmen killed scores of villagers in Benue State in a long-running conflict over grazing rights, the state government said on Monday.
The state government added that the magnitude of killings was enormous. Scores of people were killed in the past two weeks by Fulani herdsmen in at least 10 local government areas of the state.
