Abuja - An elderly man has lost his hands following an attack by armed robbers at the Eyaen village in Edo State.
According to a Naij report, Pa Jacob Ikilo was ambushed while on night duty as a security operative at the village.
Doctors at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) are currently battling to save Ikilo's right wrist as it was chopped with a machete and is only being kept alive by a tiny blood vessel.

Speaking out on the incident, Ikilo has revealed that the attack took place when he went to check on an unusual sound outside.
“When I was coming from the generator house, they surrounded me. They just cut off this my hand (left hand). As I shout, they said shut up and cut the other hand. I fell down and started asking them to leave me, that I was dying,” he said.
Operations on the elderly man's remaining hand will cost him upwards of N380,000, with Ikilo lamenting that he has not been paid his N15,000 salary for the past six months.
