The seven alleged abductors have been killed during
operations in the northern Bauchi State.
A heavy exchange of gunfire ensued, after which the
victorious troops recovered ammunition from the slain suspects.

Army spokesperson, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, said troops
were still combing the general area to further track down other fleeing members
of the alleged criminal gang.
Nigeria is battling violent crime in the north, posed by
the Islamic militant Boko Haram terror group and kidnappers.
Resurgent militants have also been engaged in
vandalism in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
