Army sustains raids on Boko Haram hideouts

Abuja – Troops have recovered an assortment of wares at Boko Haram lairs in the Borno State.

Members of the 156 Task Force Battalion of 29 Task Force Brigade in conjunction with the civilian joint taskforce and local vigilante recovered two primed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), after clearing eight camps of the sect in Yajiwa.

Acting Director Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, said the development was part of the determined efforts of clearing remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in their area of operation.

Also recovered were three pressure plates, a 36 hand grenade, two Dane guns, seven motorcycles and five empty cases of 12.7mm rounds of ammunition.

Other wares include a damaged mine detector, a vehicle and camel bag.

Solar panels, tyres, generators and grinding machines were also recovered.
