Rivers - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been accused of masterminding the arrest of senior staff of Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike, which coincided with chaotic elections held in the state.
Secretary of the State Government, Kenneth Kobani, and Cyril Dum Wite, Special Advisor to Wike on Special Projects, have been arrested for allegedly possessing fake military and police uniforms at Gokana local government area, the hometown of Senator Magnus Abe, who is contested the re-run election.
“Why should we mastermind the arrest of Kobani? What is his political relevance? Eze Chuckwuemeka Eze, spokesperson, to Rivers APC Chairman, Dr Davies Ikanya, taunted.
“Does his position as SSG place him above the law? Are we the one that asked him to be lawless that warranted his arrest?” quipped Kobani.

He claimed the APC would soon be accused of planting the N40 million, arms and police and army uniforms in the car of Wite, which led to the arrests.
“Look at the embarrassment and national shame that Wike and PDP have brought to the state for the few months they hold sway in the state. Today we are looked upon as barbarians that behead and burn fellow human beings as if they are goats,” said Kobani.
Elections in the state were held under a tense atmosphere, the culmination of weeks of violence.
The parties traded accusations.
“PDP said that they want election! They have had the election and should accept their fates and face the wrath of the law for being a lawless society.
Finally, we have no hand in either the arrests of Kobani, Wite or beating of Roseline Konya.”
