Bayelsa doctors embark on strike due to salary irregularities

Bayelsa - Doctors from the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State have emerged in a strike over irregular salaries, Punch reported.

According to reports, the doctors have only been getting 48 percent salaries in the last four four months and have warned on a three day strike over the irregularities.

Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria, President Okoye Chukwunoso, has stated that it has come to their attention that it is only doctors from Yenagoa that get their salaries cut.

Chukwunoso expresses that doctors have tried to be patient about their grievances but has been too much.

Meetings have been made with management and the doctors have made their demands known.
