Bayelsa - Bayelsa government has allegedly slashed down
salaries of political appointees in the state by 30 percent, Punch reported.
According to Naij, the slash in salaries is due to the
prevailing economy of the state.
This was announced by Commissioner of Information and
Orientation of the state, Jonathan Obuebite, shortly after an executive council
meeting in Yenagoa.

Obuebite stated that political appointees would start
receiving their salaries this coming Monday, May 16.
Two committees have been set up to monitor the salary
payment, with representatives being from the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade
Union Congress of Nigeria.
