Bello demands action against unethical pharmacists

10 November 2016, 17:31

Abuja - Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has demanded the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) to take action against members of the profession selling expired and fake drugs.

He bemoaned the prevalence of the unethical practice as he hosted the National President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Ahmad Ibrahim Yakasai, who led members of his executive council to Minna, the state capital.

The professionals are in the city for their 89th annual conference.

Bello urged PSN to partner his administration in the fight against drug abuse and sales of expired drugs in the state.

“This is a fight that all of us must join hands to fight,” said Bello.

“As a professional body, I will suggest that you withdraw the licence of any erring member.”

Yakasai said the society was committed to a cordial and team work spirit with other professional bodies in the healthcare delivery service.
