Benue lauds NSCDC for helping to mainitain peace in the state

Abuja -? Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for helping maintain peace in the state.

He said the support of the Civil Defence helped stem such crimes as communal clashes and cow rustling.

Ortom spoke during his working visit to the NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, where he met the Commandant General of the Corps, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu.

The Governor also promised to continue to support the Civil Defence render selfless service to the nation.

"I firmly believe the agency will not relent on its mandate to make Nigeria safe for all," said Ortom.

Muhammadu assured him the Corps would remain committed to the execution of its constitutional mandate of protection of critical Infrastructure and national assets.

He implored Ortom not to relent in taking the issue of security serious in the state, especially at this Critical time that the nation was engrossed with security challenges.
