Abuja – Security operatives have arrested the second in command to Boko Haram leader, Khalid Albarnwawi in Kogi, Punch reports.
Albarnwawi was the deputy to Abubakar Shekau.
According to Acting Director Defence information, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, the arrest was made on Friday, adding that this was an indication that the days of the Boko Haram Sect were numbered.
This came as reports on Saturday indicated that a top Boko Haram negotiator, Abadallah Adamu, was also arrested in Cameroon over suspicions that he could have been benefitting from ransoms received for the release of hostages.
Adamu was arrested for complicity with Boko Haram due to his sudden wealth.
There were indications that he was sharing the ransom money with some top government officials.
His place of detention remained a secret.
