Boko Haram kills five Borno villagers in fresh attack

Maiduguri - Five people were reportedly killed when suspected members of Boko Haram sect invaded Kwashebe village of Jere Local Government Area of Borno State, reports The Nation

Several other villagers sustained injuries in the attack.

The insurgents, according to sources also burnt down some houses using petrol bombs before looting foodstuffs and livestock.

The attack was said to have occurred at about 10.30 in the morning of Tuesday.

The quick intervention of some Civilian JTF around the area saved the situation .

They responded to the attack by evacuating some victims, particularly the injured ones to a nearby Police Station in Jere Local Government Area.

The dead bodies were taken to the same Jere Police Station, while those who sustained injuries were later taken to State Specialists Hospital Maiduguri for treatment
