Boko Haram kills seven, abducts teenage girls in Borno

Maiduguri - At least seven persons were killed and an unspecified number of teenage girls were on Sunday abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from Bam village in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, reports Leadership.

Bam is seven kilometres from Buratai village, hometown of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai.

Residents of the attacked village said the gunmen attacked them at about 3.30am, while they were still fast asleep.

The gunmen set houses ablaze , injuring many, including women and children in the process.

A resident of the area, Abubakar Ali, who fled to Miringa town for safety after the attack on Bam said he and many other lucky villagers managed to flee into the neighboring Miringa town from where he spoke to journalists on phone.

He said the gunmen killed seven persons and later left with some teenage girls but did not give a number on the numbers of abducted girls.
