Boko Haram new uniforms reports resurface

06 May 2016, 21:36

Abuja - Fresh reports have emerged of the Boko Haram terrorists wearing new uniform to blend with their locality in the Northeast.

Sani Usman, Army Spokesperson, said this was a result of ongoing onslaught against the terrorists in Sambisa forest.

He said the terrorist group has now devised a means of identifying themselves.

“The recent apprehension of two Boko Haram terrorists in uniform near Dikwa in Borno State, is a pointer towards this direction,” said Usman.

He urged the insurgents to surrender.

“While the military would sustain the current tempo to further decimate the terrorists, the military is advising the recalcitrant remnant Boko
Haram to surrender now and get humane treatment in line with the world best practice.”

He said the members of the public were thereby urged to be wary of this new development and be always alert.

“Any suspicious persons or object should be reported promptly to the security agencies.”

Last month the Army reported the Boko Haram had a new styled uniform of green colour.

Boko Haram gunmen usually dress in military uniforms and are masked.

They have killed more than 20 000 and displaced 3 million people.
