Boko Haram raids Borno village, kills five

Abuja - Boko Haram terrorists raided the village of Bori, Damboa LGA in Borno State on Friday, March 18, claiming five lives in the process.

According to a Naij report, the insurgents entered the village around at around 8:30 a.m. and proceeded to throw improvised explosives devices (IEDs) in various directions.

The terrorists reportedly looted foodstuffs before burning the village to the ground.

“Five people were killed on Friday, including a young girl, when Boko Haram invaded our village near Damboa town. Some women were injured. We went after them in a gun battle, some were killed but four were arrested. We brought them to Damboa,” said a source at the Civilian Joint Task Force in the area.

The development follows a pursuit made by troops of 81 Battalion as well as 251 Task Force Brigade on Boko Haram members in Kumala.

Two Boko Haram members are said to have died during the operation.
