Bread prices set to rise!

10 February 2016, 21:38

Lagos - Prices of bread and all other wheat products will go up as from next week, reports Authority.

The increase according to the Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria (AMBCN) and Arewa Master Bakers Forum is due to hike in the price of flours and other commodities used for baking bread.

Lawal Muhammed, Niger State Treasurer of the association, said members across the country have all agreed to adjust their prices upwards.

He said the decision followed the depreciation of the Naira, which has affected the prices of flour and other recipes used in making bread.

He stated the members could no longer cope with the situation even though President Muhammadu Buhari had pleaded with the  bakers to be patient with the present predicament the country is facing.
