Abuja - Minister of Interior Abdulrahman Dambazau has been accused of diverting military funds when he was chief of army staff (COAS).
According to a report by online media outfit, Dambazau was taking N1b monthly from salaries of the Nigerian military as COAS.
Minister Dambazau is a retired Nigerian army Lieutenant General. He served as army chief between 2008 and 2010, succeeding Lieutenant General Luka Yusuf.
The current Chief of Army Staff General Tukur Buratai, was also accused of illegal diversion of military funds to purchase two properties in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
