21 July 2016, 15:24

Jos - The Plateau State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Bokkos Local Government Area following the killing of two protesting youths by security personnel, Punch reports.

The youth were protesting Monday’s killing of a traditional ruler in the area.

The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Olatunde Oladunjoye, who confirmed the development, said that the two men were killed when they tried to prevent men of the Special Task Force from evacuating some persons trapped in the area as a result of the tension, which followed Agai’s killing.

Ron Kulere and Lazarus Agai, were killed by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen along with his wife, son and orderly.

The latest development according to Thisday followed the alleged arrest of some Fulani men with weapons piled up in a van on their way to Bokkos.

The security men allegedly shielded the arrested herdsmen from the mob that insisted that the suspected culprits be produced to them. In the ensuing fracas, the security agents shot two dead and left several others injured.
