Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with United States Secretary of State, John Kerry inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja
Kerry arrived for the meeting at 3:07pm.
He was received on arrival by the State Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Lawal Kazaure.
Kazaure took him upstairs into the President’s office for a meeting.
Issues such as the Boko Haram insurgency formed part of discussion between them.
The duo also discussed further assistance from America towards addressing the Nigerian economy, human rights issues and the fight against corruption.
Ahead of Kerry's arrival, Northern state governors, who he would be meeting with after his meeting with Buhari, had arrived the Villa.
Kerry had earlier travelled to Sokoto where he met the Sultan, Abubakar Sa’ad, and Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
