17 May 2016, 16:20

Lagos - A 27-year-old man, Mfom John, has been arrested for stabbing his twin brother, Israel John, to death on Olorunkemi Street in the Somolu area of Lagos State, Punch reports.

The deceased was said to have been stabbed more than 70 times while he was at asleep around 6am while the victim slept and a third occupant of the room, Christopher, was in the kitchen.

He was said to have fled to Ogunbadejo, a neighbouring street, to report to an uncle that his brother had sustained serious injuries during a fight.

He was said to have followed the uncle and his wife to the house around 7am, as a team of policemen from the Pedro division, were removing the corpse.

Christopher, who was being interrogated at that moment, reportedly pointed out the culprit to the police, leading to his arrest.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the incident, stated that the corpse of the victim had been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital morgue according to Olisatv.

The suspect, on the other hand, has been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.
