Abuja – President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of the National Assembly have set up technical committees to look into the "grey areas" in the 2016 budget.
According to Punch, the two committees would study the areas of dispute and come up with a "harmonized position" in a bid to fast track the signing of the N6.06 trillion budget.
"The two committees were raised to look into the budget and produce a harmonised position," one senior National Assembly official was quoted as saying.
This came as reports on Wednesday indicated that Buhari may soon sign the budget after the executive arm of the government and the National Assembly resolved their lingering face-off over the budget document.
a truce was brokered between the two arms of government at a meeting between the president, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the leadership of the national assembly at the presidential villa on Tuesday.
