Buhari condemns spate of Boko Haram terror

01 February 2016, 07:45

Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his condolences to the people of Adamawa and Borno States following recurrent terror attacks.

Boko Haram members carried out the attacks in Chibok, Dolari and Gombi.

According Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari prayed that the Almighty God would comfort the mourning and grant the injured persons quick recovery.

Shehu said the President also called on all Nigerians to be vigilant and ready to work with security operatives in ending the war against insurgency.

He said Buhari added that the insurgents had suffered immensely from the sustained bombardments of their camps and hide outs by the Nigerian military.

As such, they had resorted to using desperate measures to gain "cheap media attention."

“I urge all citizens wherever they live to own the war against terror and to be part of the fight because it is the only way," Buhari was quoted as saying.

"We can finish the remaining work that needs to be done to make our country safe again."
