At the end of the meeting, Wike declined to speak with journalists on the purpose of his visit.
But sources said the governor’s visit might not be unconnected with the ongoing disturbances within the Niger Delta states where a group, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) are blowing up major oil installations.
Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson had paid a similar visit to the Vice President yemi Osinbajo last week where he said that the government cannot tolerate the bombing and vandalization of oil installations and other national assets in the coastal states.
